Federico Rotondaro

Fede runs One Ocean International Uruguay.

His apnea training began in 2019 in Margaret River, Australia, where the extreme surfing conditions (powerful waves and frequent shark presence) led him to seek specific tools for managing fear and stress in the ocean. In 2025, he brings the One Ocean methodology to Uruguay.

"I learned directly from one of the pioneers in surf apnea, Joe Knight, founder of One Ocean International (2012). I gained confidence not only to surf the waves I wanted, but also to swim in open water, dare to spearfish, and start my freediving journey. But above all, I felt how this training helped my daily life. Through the combination of breathing and apnea, for the first time, I experienced calm and tranquility in my mind. It helped me manage my thoughts and emotions, seeking tranquility in discomfort, helping me to stop, relax, and make better decisions under stress. This led me to want to train to be able to transmit this experience, so I trained for 6 years with Joe, of which 2 I worked as an assistant and instructor in surf apnea. Then I traveled to the Philippines to train as a Molchanovs Freediving Instructor, under the tutelage of Thibault Guignes, French national record holder. Interested in breathing and movement out of the water, I studied the Oxygen Advantage methodology, becoming a Master Instructor, as well as a Yoga Instructor in Mysore, India."
